“Every cloud has a silver lining” this quote represents that PPPK Petra and Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School are back after the pandemic outbreak made the exchange programme annually off for almost two years. Now, in 2022 the program was held virtually (zoom meeting) for 3 days on Tuesday, 17 Mei until Thursday, 19 May 2022. There were 24 selected students from all PPPK Petra Elementary Schools joined Petra Exchange Programme (PEP).
Through tight and competitive selections proved that five students from Petra 5 Christian Elementary School were involved in this program successfully. As a result, PEP brought them into their transformation for their critical thinking, creativity and cooperation. Here are the testimonies after joining the PEP:
Marjorie 5E:
I joined PEP to improve my confidence in doing a presentation. It challenged my ability, moreover, in English skills. I’ve got more knowledge about Singapore and made new international friends. I am also so proud of myself because this PEP encouraged me to improve of my speaking skill confidently. Hopefully, I can contribute more to the English competition.
Sinclair 5C:
PEP made me braver in making communication and new networking from Singapore. I could communicate with students from Pei Hwa and did the activities together, especially in making a Bambu Runcing photo frame. I was happy communicated with Singapore’s friends and talked about Surabaya. I met many new friends and it made me more confident in socializing with many people.
Queena 5D:
I participated in PEP because I wanted to enlarge my knowledge and made new friends from another country. I wanted to share the activities with Phei Hwa friends and also tell how beautiful is Indonesia, especially Surabaya. Through the Q&A session, I could interact deeply with them by sharing stories. In addition, I learned to be a responsible, disciplined and an independent person.
PEP is an excellent program that most PPPK Petra students wish to join. Hopefully, this pandemic will be gone soon, then this international programme can be held directly in Singapore. Thank you and God bless you all.
